So, I need a favour, guys.

I'm supposed to be writing an essay for my genre writing class. It's already on its second extension, so I reeeally do need to start finish it this week..

Anyway, I'm writing my essay on FANFICTION. Because according to my class, it counts as a genre enough for me to write an essay on it :P

For those interested, it's about "genre as a social contract", and I have to discuss it using two detailed examples. That's where you guys come into it!

Basically, I need recs or offers of fics I could use. I wouldn't be reproducing the entire fic/s, but I would presumably need to quote them somewhere. I'd love it if the authors on my list could offer one of their own pieces, because it means I don't have to add extra time onto it, email people and then waiting for their permission to use their fic.

Ideally, I'd like:
- Fics in fandoms that I'm at least a little familiar with.
- At least one "long", completed fic.
- Either another fic as above, or a short one/series of drabbles/WIP
- Fics that demonstrate themes/devices/author-fan engagement that I can comment on - even better if they've been posted in a community of some form, and the community has responded.

Maybe I can do something on the communities that form around fanfic? For that, two pieces from the same fandom/pairing etc, both of which were posted in communities would be great! Or two pieces from very different communities....

ANYWAY. If y'all could help me out, that'd be awesome :) if unsure, just rec me your favourite fics that are well written and posted in an active community. Links, please!

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if I can ask for your help with an assignment.

It’s a sociology paper asking what makes feature film a sociological tool. I'm looking at the audience behaviors involved in going to the movies (so this is related to the last thing you saw at the cinema, ok?). My theory is that when we go to the movies we're trying to get something from it. (I'm talking about the reasons we choose whichever film we see, not why we want to go the the cinema in general - so, "with my friends, I saw x instead of y, because ....", not "I went to the movies because my friends were".)

What I need is for as many people as possible to answer some questions for me, about the last movie they saw at the cinema.

Ok, so a while back I made a post (ages and ages ago) about Chris and money and how it was never going to happen. And two people - that I remember - were amazingly kind and said that if it ever came about they'd want to put some financial contribution towards Chris and I meeting.

IF you guys want to do that still, could you comment on this and let me know? I do not expect you to at all, you don't have to. I just remembered the other day.

I don't like asking for things, and I hate asking for money. If you don't want to or you can't then thats totally cool, and I love you for even considering it. If you want to and can, though, I will be so unbelievably touched. (Can we say "dreaming of our last night together taking place in a five star hotel"? lol!)

hmmm... probably Serena - i think she was the first to comment on my very first entry. But I now can't remember her username, and i dont think she really uses hers ever anymore... so does that count?

There was a whole bunch of my Melba friends who all added each other around the same time. But I think I added all the Evboard peeps before that, and of those the only one I still talk to on a remotely regular basis/who still makes entries at all is Chris (shadowwolf218 ). Which is kind of cool :)
